"The remarkable John Alfred Prestwich and his JAP business"

Engineering historian Keith Shephard will be talking to members of Warminster Motor Club and friends about the history of JAP engines and their engineers. Besides producing many industrial units during the first 65 years of the twentieth century, JAP provided many of the engines which featured in motor cycle racing, record breaking and car racing. Woolbridge members will probably mostly associate them with 500cc Formula 3, Vee-twin hillclimb cars, and their domination of speedway for around 30 years.

All Woolbridge members and their friends are invited to come along.

The meeting will start at 8.00pm, and will take place at "The George", Longbridge Deverill, BA12 7DG. "The George" is easy to find, about three miles south of Warminster on the A350. There is a large car park.

Once again Woolbridge Motor Club has been asked to run Uddens Stages on Rally Sunseeker 2012. For those of you who don’t know this is just off the main A31 between Wimbourne and Ferndown Industrial Estate Roundabout on the left-hand side.

As usual we need a large number of marshals, anybody who can help please phone me on 07836 389726 or e-mail me woolbridgerallymarshals@gmail.com Signing-on from approximately 10am. This year’s event is the 1^st round of the 2012 international British Rally Championship supported by historic and national classes.

22 The 5th St Georges Classic Car Tour - organised by the Salisbury CSMA Group.

This years event will start from the Salisbury Racecourse and will finish at Breamore House.

The entry fee will be a minimum of £45 and after all the bills have been paid we hope to donate in excess off £1000 to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Please note we do not take provisional entries, an entry is only confirmed once we receive a filled in entry form with your cheque. Please also note there will be a maximum of 70 cars and entries closed in February for SG 2011.

The regs and entry form will be available from early in January. If you would like receive a copy of each please email Chris Derbyshire on chris.derbyshire2@virgin.net When available they will be emailled to you.
